This site was built so that Cristiano Chaussard’s work can be perceived, understood and navigated by different people, assistive technologies and forms of interaction.
Commitment
The project seeks conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. WCAG is the international standard for making digital content perceivable, operable, understandable and robust.
Available features
- Complete keyboard navigation, visible focus and a skip link to the main content.
- Semantic structure compatible with screen readers.
- Alternative text for artworks, portraits and relevant editorial images.
- Audio description for 67 artworks, accompanied by written transcripts.
- Portuguese, English and Chinese interfaces with correct language identification.
- Enhanced contrast, text zoom support and compatibility with device high-contrast modes.
- Animations and smooth scrolling are disabled when reduced motion is selected in the operating system.
- Touch-friendly controls and mobile menus without internal scrollbars.
Known limitations
- The artwork “Your Clock is Wrong” does not yet have an audio-description file.
- Some historical videos are played on YouTube; caption availability and quality depend on the original material and the platform.
- Historical Journal texts remain in the language in which they were originally published.
